Planning a trip to Bear Lake? The lake sits right on the Utah-Idaho border, and both states have great parks and beaches for visitors.

On the Idaho side (east shore), you’ll find three main areas: North Beach, East Shore, and the Primitive Area. These spots are perfect if you’re looking for beautiful shoreline, boat access, and a mix of developed and more rustic camping.

On the Utah side (west shore), the most popular spot is Bear Lake State Park with its Visitor Center and Marina in Garden City. This is the main hub for boat rentals, parking, and lake access. At the south end of the lake near Laketown, you’ll find Rendezvous Beach State Park, a favorite for camping, swimming, and family gatherings.

You’ll also see several smaller beach areas scattered around the lake like North Eden, Rainbow Cove, Cisco Beach, South Eden, and First Point — each offering different vibes for swimming, picnicking, or launching a boat.

Whether you’re coming for the day or staying for the weekend, these state parks and recreation sites give you easy access to Bear Lake’s famous turquoise water. Just remember — the lake is split between two states, so check which side you’re on when planning your visit!
